I was around 14 when my father brought me along to a rice field in a nearby town. He would shoot birds that we can have for food. He carried a shotgun and positioned himself by the rice field where the palay are heavy with the grains that's why there are many birds. He shouted something that caused the birds to fly. You need a good timing to shoot. Truly my father was a marksman for 3 birds dropped on the ground. It was my task to find those birds in between the reed of rice. It was a hard work to find those birds. I think we had more than 20 birds to bring home in less than an hour of shooting.
