Dried fish for broiling

My idea of camping is one without the conveniences that we have in this modern life. It's like picking up the knapsack and the folded tent and off you go. But with the food supplies, it is important to me because we have experienced many times that lack of food due to short supply of my companions. My safety measure for that situation is dried fish. One pack of dried fish that is good for 10 people is easy to carry and so handy. The only problem is when you have no skillet and no cooking oil. Our recourse is to broil it on stones that serve as the stove top. Even if there is no cooking oil the taste of broiled or pan roasted dried fish is good enough to match the steaming rice in the pot.
