Often times in camping or backpacking, we only think of the uses of aluminum foil in terms of cooking our food, and rarely if ever think of or remember it's many other uses.
    • It can be used to form a rain hat
    • It can be made into a pan to catch rainwater
    • It can be fastened to a lashed together stick frame and used as a reflector oven
    • It can be used for boot liners for unexpected snowfall (wrap over your socks then pull on your boots or shoes).
    • It can be used for a body heat conserver (by wrapping it around your body under your coat)
    • It can be used for an emergency Heliograph sun signaler
    • It can be used as a candle reflector
    • It can be used in strips as an emergency fish lure.
    • It can be used of course to bake potatoes and corn, etc..
    • It can be used in a frying pan with the foil shiny side up helping cook heat & cook food faster.
    • It can be used as a drinking cup by folding it several times.
    • It can be used for wrapping non-perishable food as it discourages mice and insects.
Can you add to my list? Come on and do it then so we all might know the many uses of aluminum foil on the trail.

    A few more:
    • Great for tough food spots from your pots/pans because of its abrasive surface
    • Fold up your matches inside so they stay dry
    • Make a funnel (great for storing away extra water, soup, etc.)
    • Fix loose batteries (put a piece inside the compartment between the battery and the spring)
