Getting friendly with the natives

My father who I consider to be a good hunter always told me to be friendly with the natives or residents of the place especially when you bring along guns. In his camping trips, he usually brings a big pack of salt that he presents as gift to the natives. Mountain people treasure the salt because that is their primary seasoning.

I am not a hunter but I bring along a pack of hard candy to give away to the residents near the campsite. More often than not those people would provide us protection.

This is such a cool idea. I’m a fan of gifting— in fact, it’s one of my love languages, ha! Love this idea, and I plan on bringing gifts along on my next travel adventure!!
