Not a camping day, but a great morning with my nephew on the river. A little river fun before he has to return to his air base. It was a nice cool morning with a chance of rain as we put in. There are plenty of calm areas where you don't have to worry about broadsiding anything. I enjoy gliding over and looking at the different types of structures on the river bottom. Smoothly sailing over dirt bottoms scattered with mussel shells, areas of small yellow and brown gravel that have been rolled, polished and pushed to create natural points and shallow bars, and the larger boulders that have the soil washed away rom around them leaving places where submerged logs get trapped creating current breaks for fish and other creatures to take refuge. The shoals at the end of the calm areas created by rock ledges that have resisted to be moved by the waters powerful forces, also create great resting place for nature's aquatic animals. We were blessed with some nice fishing. All fish released unharmed, we'll maybe with a few lip piercings. The end of a great morning. 81e9b1615a9eda732275f85cc0f0bc57.jpg 1405982534a5aaa52d5b48a4c2350342.jpg f5985feef47f0c48c3a49c21d22c8e09.jpg 43a24f382d525dfd04a752e9e7442406.jpg 6e9343a564d95662f8f991b031a3b077.jpg 703fab8482e57c321d3c55ca7e465b84.jpg 48ce195ba3e41368c39d89a00d69c22e.jpg 23819cd3aacd1c39fca2083ac3b6718f.jpg 08c6be6b78d873c80d965c992732c63d.jpg

I am hoping to take a 2 day trip down this river in a couple of weeks. Did one last year with my nephew and it was a blast.

Do you write from memory or do you keep a journal of some kind?

Thanks, I take pictures as I go. I try to remember what was going on when I took that picture.
