004b6cc30f3e5ca1b3b5bfbe3b7b69c1.jpg . My wife and I took a little drive last Saturday on the Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail. It runs from Bristol VA to Cumberland Gap Kentucky. 96c13e804158f7b14ac5a9249a164d58.jpg There sure was some beautiful scenery 9708e812b6ba44ca7eb858977d516eb1.jpg . There were some hiking trails, but due to the heat and I sort of screwed my back up, she wouldn't let me do any hiking. she even made me ride the chair lift down to the choo choo tunnel. 759377adcd5ebc7a9d579fd7f5ab8e55.jpg . It is realy amazing how this little river cut through this huge mountain. e30dcdcc12e512aa7261b30a48b98d1f.jpg . The trains still come through, but I bet it isn't as spectacular as it was a hundred years ago when a steam locomotive came puffing and billowing out black smoke and the screaming whistle snorting steam. Must've looked like an angry one eyed dragon emerging from the depths of its lair. The limestone canyon that the river has carved out, is way to large for me to capture a view of. d0ab09d578e078f1fd43270b314b78cd.jpg cb6442b2e8056dc7ad81d4e75f106387.jpg d6a0588e24b62e90e9b9be634ff5275b.jpg

That's on my list of places to go. Looks amazing! Have you been to Luray Caverns?

Are those pictures from a trip you took recently? I mean did you do any camping, or just drive by?

No we didn't camp or hike. This was just a Saturday drive we did week before last. We don't do much camping or hiking from June through September it's just to hot here.

...fascinating stuff; excellent description and great pictures. I get a bit nervous being in caves even the ones that I can see the entrance. It reminds me when I "wombed". :bag:

I live near the area and have been to the park many times. Unfortunately I haven't camped there, but I definitely want to. However, I have camped near at parks near Elizabethton TN and Charleston WV.
