I love camping, and I have been doing it for years. I have learned some particularly fun (and yummy) recipes from my time as both a camper and as a camp counselor. Here are a few of my favorites...

This is a traditional tin foil packet recipes. It is a good idea to bake the potatoes before you leave home and wrap them in tin foil to take on the trip & keep them chilled if possible. There is a bit of "prep work" involved and this helps to cut the time.

    Ingredients:
    • Large potatoes (baked)
    • sliced ham
    • bacon slices
    • cheese slices
    • sour cream
    • green onions for topping
Slice the baked potato horizontally a few times. Between the cuts, stuff a slice of cheese, bacon, and ham. Place on a fire for about 20-25 minutes (until potato is hot and cheese, ham, and bacon have melted together), let sit until cooled a bit, and dig in!

What are some of your favorite, go-to camping recipes?

Bake potatoes have been a good food to eat and putting things like ham and cheese in the potatoes sounds yummy. I do like fries of any kind so potatoes are awesome.
