      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Just back from a windy 6 day camping trip. Badlands have few trees and rolling hills, everything the wind likes when it wants to get in your face! <br />
<br />
Sights were fun. We had Big Horn sheep grazing right next to us, of course that drove our dog crazy. I was proud of him, he was respectful and maintained a safe distance from them. The erosion was fascinating, everything is different, everything is the same.<br />

Temps were all over the place which makes camping in between the seasons a challenge....<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[This is the place I&#039;m from so I can mention some good spots.  One is Natural Tunnel state park which lies somewhat across the state border near Kingsport TN.  Also, there is probably some good parks out near Lebanon, Virginia, but not sure of the name or names and, you don&#039;t want to miss camping near any of the TVA lakes like Cherokee, Norris, or Boone.  Finally, the Blue Ridge mountains, as in the Great Smokies and the areas like Erwin, TN, have campgrounds all over the place]]></content:encoded>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Took a hike yesterday where the hwy used to cut through a mountain. We have driven through this gap in the mountain several times traveling between Michigan and Tennessee. Now there is a tunnel that cuts through the mountain. This is also part of the Daniel Boone wilderness trail, and a strategic area during the Civil war.<br />

 We haven&#039;t hiked in this area before, so this was our first time. We stopped at a hostel, where thru hikers on the Appalachian trail could stop for the night, and asked directions to the falls. The young person was a hiker and was very helpful. I thought it would take a couple of hours to get to the falls, but I guess with the scenery and...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Here&#039;s some photos from camping at unit 9 last March. That&#039;s probably 20+ miles from the south rim of the Grand canyon. It&#039;s all primitive camping out off the the forest roads. If there&#039;s a hundred miles of these forest roads there&#039;s a thousand miles. Pretty much just drive and get lost and pitch a tent. Please leave your site cleaner than what you found it and obey the fire restrictions. It can get really dry....<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Just booked a 3 day July 4th getaway at Greenbrier River Campground for 2015.<br />
<br />
I happened to see their Facebook post today that they had a few cancellations.  Not only is it the 4th celebration, but it is also the weekend of the Greenbrier Classic, so to book a reservation as late as February is rare.<br />
<br />
We don&#039;t golf, but there are plenty of other activities in the area. This will be our second trip. We went for leaf peeping last fall and made it a priority to return in 2015. <br />
