      <content:encoded><![CDATA[My father who I consider to be a good hunter always told me to be friendly with the natives or residents of the place especially when you bring along guns. In his camping trips, he usually brings a big pack of salt that he presents as gift to the natives. Mountain people treasure the salt because that is their primary seasoning. <br />

I am not a hunter but I bring along a pack of hard candy to give away to the residents near the campsite. More often than not those people would provide us protection.]]></content:encoded>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Leaving out in the morning for 3 days of camping/fishing trip. Of course I am rummaging through my stuff giving a yay or nay vote. I always do this, wait till the last minute and try to lug all kinds of stuff. At least it isn&#039;t a back packing trip. We throw our camping and fishing stuff in the boat, and take off for a level piece of dirt somewhere away from overly civilized areas.<br />
<br />
Going to get a good nights sleep, and pack rest of stuff in the morning. <br />

There&#039;s a little color in the trees but surprisingly not much for this time of the year. Not a soul camping here. Uumm um fresh chicken on the grill. I&#039;ll bet every bear around was sniffing me out. Now I see if I get me some trout.
