      <title>Bannock on a Stick</title>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Use: 3 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 tablespoons of baking powder, 1/4 cup butter, 1 1/2 cup water.<br />
First mix the dry ingredients then add the water and melted butter, and stir well.<br />
Knead the dough 10 times. then form into balls of dough and roll the balls between your hands to form long narrow rolls.<br />
take each of these and wrap around and stick and bake over your campfire until done.<br />

It was lots of fun to have more than 20 guests who slept in tents. Especially for the teenagers, they had the time of their life although to me it seemed more like a picnic and not really a camping activity. <br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Just saw on tv a documentary of an Australian family in the woods. The husband went to the fields to shoot rabbits. He got 2 and cooked it into stew with garlic, onions, salt, bay leaves and some herbs. For added flavor he poured white wine together with cherry tomatoes when the meat was almost cooked. The pot he used was the thick cast iron that he was able to place live coals on top so the food was like being baked. How I miss my camping days although I have yet to sample rabbit meat.]]></content:encoded>

Who among you have eaten frogs? I did in many occasions but I have yet to taste bat meat, monkey meat and the reptile called &quot;bayawak&quot; which looks like a small crocodile. My father said that hunters should not be choosy with food because it is better to eat anything than to go hungry. Maybe those exotic foods that hunters eat...<br />

Aside from malaria and dengue there is also the probability of the e-coli bacteria that can cause severe diarrhea. That is one reason why our dish called Pork Adobo is popular for any kind of trip whether picnic or camping. The adobo is cooked with vinegar and soy sauce.
